Abstract
This paper investigates the potential of the magnetic survey method as a tool for detecting large-core cables. Using mathematical modeling, the characteristics of the anomalous magnetic field (shape, amplitude, spatial gradient) are analyzed for various cable types and their operating conditions. Based on the modeling results, criteria for the method's applicability, requirements for equipment sensitivity, and threshold conditions for reliable identification of the target object are formulated.
